The secluded beach and small lochan are only a 1 minute walk from the front door. A further 5 minute stroll will take to you to both of the Braigh's stunningly long beaches. The shingle beach enjoys views to the minch while the sandy beach is the location of the historic ruins of St Columba's first church of the islands.
The present ruins are no earlier than the 14th century and the church was used as a burial site for the Macleods during the 15th and 16th centuries and occupies the same site as Saint Catan of the 6th and 7th century.
